Friday May 13th—Mondo Porno: Every Season Editrix Abby hosts funtastic parties at Arlene’s Grocery, which are always themed and have energetic bands mixed in with dirty contests, burlesque and a really revved crowd. This month I was especially excited because the theme was Big Top Mondo Porno, which meant that a whole mess of clown freaks and geeks were going to be there to dance, drink and goof. The amazingly talented Nasty Canasta debuted her Charlie Chaplin-esque clown routine (which will be performed again at Red Hots’ Downtown clowns on June 26th) . And I got to cause much ruckus all over the Lower East Side. A/V the Clown was even arrested for public drinking. Not something I condone, but I certainly got a kick out of the sheer comedy of it all. Thursday May 19—Shakes at Anthology Film Archives: A/V the Clown and I leave our Brooklyn residence and head to our favorite Sex Toy Store in the Lower East Side to use the basement area to put our faces on. A/V fully transforms herself into one spiffy Rodeo Clown. (Though the Cyclecide clowns give her a run for her money. ) A party clown and rodeo clown never looked so good together. I wore my usual face and a blue super sexy short skirt with Polkadot stockings. (Jeremiah was less than impressed, but mostly because he is a pervert and wanted to see me in my shiny polka dot underroos. ) On our way to Anthology Film Archives. A/V and I stopped into a local bar for some quicky shots of Whisky in real Shakes honor. We arrive. And I would love to tell you the streets fill with honking, falling, goofing clowns, but alas I am just as happy to tell you it was cozy and delicious. From Little Brooklyn’s appearance to Albert Cadabra’s tasty mao and fries. We stumbled in, enjoyed the show, and made our way to Starshine, for some evening delight! The next day, I noticed my camera was missing. Doom! I thought. Complete DOOM! And just as I had dropped a sad-clown tear I got an email from Dr.Fardook. He took some pictures! And there is noting better than an Evil Conspiracy photo! May Other: May also was the month that I met a new muse. It was an electrical coming together of creative energies. Sparks and confetti flew everywhere when Dottie Lux met The Beat Circus. We look forward to many new projects together so please check them out and stay tuned! |
