June Events:
Sat June 25th Mermaid Parade and Mermaid Ball:
Every year Coney Island is taken over by Mermaids and Sea Creatures from all over town to kick off the summer in style. The Clowns gathered for a Clown Fish outing and in the hot sun we took to the streets. Old Ma Femme joined for some expert accordian playing. It was a blast!

Veronika Sweet, A/V the clown and Lucy stuck around for the Mermaid Ball. Where there were many excellent bands as well as performances by Veronika, myself, Little Brooklyn and Molly Crabapple. VS and I had the pleasure of shakin' it with The Beat Circus who, if you haven't heard by now, are just amazing!

Sunday June 26th: Clown Porn Reading and Downtown Clowns
The reading went well and maybe, who knows, I will put some of my clown writings on the internet, or better yet, in print! All of the readers were fantastic it was such an honor to read along side them.

Right after the reading A/V and I hopped a cab and made our way over to Rififi. The show started with more expert accordian playing this time by a first time clown named Matt. Keith Bindlestiff hosted the event and was gorgeous, I felt so lucky to have him, but I was truly truly BLOWN AWAY by The World Famous *Bob* as Petunia Pieface. It mattered not that she left the stage a little slippery, really, it made the rest of the night that much more exciting. Little Brooklyn had an amazing performance and when she said "It's as if Dottie gave birth to a bunch of new clowns!" I was overcome with goosepimples. I remember my first time officially clowning with the one and only Ducky Doolittle. It was one of the most magical things that had ever happened to me and if I could spread that to someone else, pass that on, I really am the lucky one. Like I said, Matt had never ever donned any type of grease paint. We spoke and developed his frown clownface. After the show he made the hike back to NJ with out removing the paint and promised "I'll never take it off".

I spent 21 hours in grease paint from Sat-Sun and I was surprised to see that it actually washed off.
